Knight Signs (Pty) Ltd has achieved a Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) rating of 4 which was audited by Poweright, Deltacon. The company is a dynamic supplier of signage to leading oil and corporate companies, vinyl to the motor industry and all signage to the Private sector. We specialize in the manufacture, installation and rigging of perspex, vinyl, aluminium, light boxes,panaflex, fiberglass concepts, illumination (neon and LED), trademark signs, HSEQ signage, road marking and painting. Our field of experience includes the establishment of all signage at new service stations, as well as the maintenance of existing structures. We are also actively involved in erecting signs for community projects in conjunction with Joburg City Parks and TOTAL.

Knight Signs is based in Kya Sands, Johannesburg, South Africa. Installations are done countrywide as well as in the neighbouring countries of Botswana, Swaziland, Lesotho and Namibia.

Jaco du Plooy Managing Director (Nat Dip. Architecture)

Being the founder of the company, Jaco takes maximum advantage of his qualification as an Architect in the signage industry. He acted as project manager for major signage installations throughout South Africa.

His involvement with the TOTAL PREMIER upgrade programme dates back to the start of the project in 1995. The change over entails the conversion from the old blue and orange lines on the canopy fascia's to the red and white module as we know it today. Buildings were renovated, pump island were rebuilt and the new perspex modules were introduced on the building fascia and canopy fascia's.

Johannes Manganye Majority Shareholder (60%)

Johannes is the major shareholder in the company. He works very closely with Jaco on all projects, including tenders, site surveys, staff management and materials. He also oversees the logistical and operational side of the business.

Johannes, our roving Health and Safety Representative, continuously monitors and counsel employees to maintain a high quality of workmanship.

Andrew Bruigom Project Manager

Andrew oversees all of the aspects relating to installations and manufacturing of the signage items. He was closely involved with the 2004 roll-out programme as well as the removal of the old and installation of new Lube Bottle displays.

The physical on-site tasks and installations throughout South Africa are carried out by various skilled installation teams under the management of Andrew.

Andrew is also involved with the new map stand concept.

Finance & Administration

All financial and administrative tasks are handled inhouse by JJC Consultants and Associates cc; a Pretoria based company, in conjunction with Suzie Cawood in the Johannesburg office.

Health & Safety

The company has appointed a full time Health and Safety Officer in order to achieve a better rating in compliance with the Occupational Health And Safety Act (85 of 1993). Our continued commitment towards Health and Safety is reflected in our Health and Safety Policy, and monthly audits are done on all of our working sites as well as our sub-contractors. This commitment has allowed us to become a much coveted preferred supplier to BP Africa.
